"When we are the Children of the Forest, what need have we to be afraid of it? We are only afraid of that which is outside of the forest."

-- Pygmy native from "The Forest People"

Those of us who have experienced the company of a wilderness so grand existing for millennia, never intending to be changed or be disrupted by anything but that of nature itself, have been blessed beyond words. We feel, we breathe, we hold closely to our very souls the honor to have been graced by its awesome presence around us; to stand at its feet in awe and live even if only for a moment in its glory. Its name is simply Tropical Rainforest.

RainforestSong.org is a compilation of facts, photographs, forums, live chats, pages dedicated to environmental activists who are making a difference throughout the world, and a visual and working understanding of the necessity for the survival of these pristine environments known as Tropical Rainforests. Their song has been one of endless beauty, changing as a living, breathing entity for countless ages; providing 50% of the oxygen we breath today; creating and harboring more species of flora and fauna than any other place on earth; supplying the base for 70% of all of the worlds pharmaceutical drugs and promising to find cures for more diseases; possibly that of Cancer and AIDS.

How wonderful a world this is. Sadly, nearly 95,000 acres per year in Central and South America alone are sacrificed to logging, land clearing for cattle, oil, copper and its other natural resources. RainforestSong.org and its affiliates are dedicated with their lives to supporting causes that benefit and replenish the natural world of Central and South America (Neo-Tropics), and other areas that deserve to exist as they always have.

 ...................

Rainforest Song began in March, 2007 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America to meets the needs of 2 very important issues that plague this nation as well as many throughout the world: poverty and rainforest destruction. The creators of Rainforest Song are actively seeking and employing educational strategies for settlers in the Maya Biosphere (see Our Purpose) to facilitate an understanding of the necessity for the preservation of that area and to attain a working knowledge of sustainable agriculture so that their needs for food will no longer encroach upon one of the largest and most threatened biodiversity hotspots on earth.

RainforestSong.org and RainforestShoppe.com also contribute to organizations that are desperately trying to keep areas of land free from urban development and those who educate about sustainability and rainforest conservation.

Also included in these pages are facts about many tropical fruits, including pictures and tips for sustainable agriculture for the impoverished.

Please stay a while and enjoy our site. It has been a long time in the making and is filled with love, concerns and devotion for the vast and awesome world of the Tropical Rainforests.
